The Immigrant Investor Program
vs. the Entrepreneur Program
The Immigrant Investor Program must not be mistaken for the Entrepreneur Program, another Canadian immigration option.

The Entrepreneur Program
  • The Entrepreneur Program is an attractive option offered to individuals who have the necessary expertise and the willingness to invest in a start-up business.
  • However, many potential immigrants are not interested in this program because of the risks inherent in start-ups and, in particular, because they have little or no firsthand experience in the Canadian marketplace.
The Immigrant Investor Program
  • The Immigrant Investor Program alleviates these concerns, while at the same time serving as a new source of financing for established small or medium-sized businesses.
  • The Immigrant Investor Program allows immigration candidates to satisfy government requirements by making passive arm's-length investments in qualified Canadian businesses.
  • Immigrant investors are then free to establish themselves in Canada, and examine the domestic marketplace more closely before becoming involved in new business ventures.
